Clock changes that move the window
- Los Angeles: Sun, 1 Nov 2026: at 2:00 AM clocks go back to 1:00 AM (PDT → PST, UTC−8); Sun, 14 Mar 2027: at 2:00 AM clocks go forward to 3:00 AM (PST → PDT, UTC−7)
- Sydney: Sun, 4 Apr 2027: at 3:00 AM clocks go back to 2:00 AM (AEDT → AEST, UTC+10); Sun, 3 Oct 2027: at 2:00 AM clocks go forward to 3:00 AM (AEST → AEDT, UTC+11)
Good to know
- The window is longest in the southern summer (November to March), when Sydney is on AEDT and California on PST.
- Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart share Sydney’s clock; Brisbane does not use daylight saving time and is an hour behind Sydney in the southern summer.
- The two hemispheres change clocks in opposite directions, so the window moves by an hour in March/April and again in October/November.
